Recently explorer has been cycling and I don't know what has started it. I
will be browsing through explore and it will quit and cyclo the desktop.
After a few cycles it will tell me my active desktop has failed ( I don't
have anything checked on the web page. The following is the Description in
the Event Viewer.

The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The link says there is no help.

In trouble shooting this problem I came across another. When loging on to
my NET passport it has told me that I cannot log in because I have had too
many wrong password entry attempts when, in fact, I haven't logged into Net
Passport for a number of days and the last logon was successful. Is this
part of the latest virus?

I too have this problem and the solution as of now is to
run your folder windows in a separate process (In Windows
Explorer, go to Tools-->Folder Options - View Tab -->
Check the "Launch folder windows in a separate process"
and you should be all set. I wish MS would acknowledge
there is a problem with XP SP1 because I have only had
this problem since SP1 as have many others, but for now,
this is the only true-fix I have found on the Internet.

Cheers!
